"The Pink City like no other"
The Jordanian city of Petra is known by its visitors and readers as (the Pink City) in relation to the color of the rocks that formed its unique building. It is a city similar to a castle, and it was the capital of the Nabataean state.
Petra is a historical city located in Jordan in the south of the country 225 km south of the capital Amman to the west of the main road that connects the capital Amman and the city of Aqaba.
It is a complete city carved in pink rock (hence the name Petra, which means in Greek rock) (corresponding to the Nabataean language Rakimo) and Petra is also known as the Pink City in relation to the color of the rocks that formed its building, and it is a city similar to a castle.
It was built by the Nabateans in the year 400 BC
And near the city there is Mount Aaron, which is believed to contain the tomb of the Prophet Aaron and the seven springs that Moses struck with his stick of rock and erupted. Petra was chosen on 7/7/2007 as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

From the north of Damascus to the Red Sea in the south, the location of Petra, the Mediterranean, between the civilizations of Mesopotamia, the Levant, the Arabian Peninsula, and Egypt, formed an economic importance.
The Nabataean state held the reins of trade between the civilizations of these regions and their inhabitants, and the trade convoys arrived with spices from southern Arabia, silk from Gaza and Damascus, henna from Ashkelon, glassware from Tyre and Sidon, and pearls from the Persian Gulf.
