The fort is historically considered one of the very ancient and ancient cities, and some sources indicate that it witnessed a civilization and prosperity in several eras that left its traces in it, as most of these monuments of churches, temples, houses and tunnels are concentrated in the interior of Tel Al-Hosn and its vicinity, which is an industrial hill formed by accumulating dust on its buildings that disappeared Underneath it, through the different ages that passed on it, and the hill is located on the northern side of the present-day fortress city.
As for the antiquities in the fort , they date back to several eras and historical periods that remained present in them, and they are believed to be the following ages: the Bronze Age 3500-1200 BC, the Copper Age 4500-3500 BC, the Iron Age 1200-333 BC and the Nabatean Arab Age 400 BC. AD-106 AD, the Roman era 64 BC-AD 324 AD, the Byzantine period 324-640 AD, and finally the Islamic era 640 AD-to date.
There is an archaeological mound in the fort, which is believed to have been built when the fort was one of the ten cities ( the Decapolis alliance ) and is currently used as a cemetery for Muslims
